We are going to see our priests in July, going to chat to my priest about possibly getting married at home, and going to chat to h2b priest about getting his baptismal cert and birth cert, hoping he can help us find them!

The priest should be able to help him with the Baptismal cert.. as for the birthcert I'm not to sure.. but usually I think you have to go to Births, Deaths and Marriages place and get it there.. unless he is adopted.. because both myself and H2b have to send away for ours...

But anyway.. i bet you are looking forward to it.. I think that is a big step in the plannings :)

Thats the thing H2b is adopted so birth cert might be a bit hard to get, also was baptised very soon after birth so wasnt baptised in his home parish. But his parish priest is really good at finding things like that as he is very interested in geneology and has loads of contacts everywhere and knows how to go about finding things like birth certs.

Looking forward to meeting the priests as it would be the first big steps towards organising the wedding regardless of where we are going ot do it!

Oh very good, sounds like a great priest :)
Depending where he was adopted it may be a little different, I have to send off for mine to the Irish adoption board, where as H2b has to send off to England I think.. its alot of hard work

Yeh, he is great at his work, but he is a bit of had work aswell, he lives alone and literllay you have to expect to spend the whole night with him from about 6 to 10 or so, to keep in company and chat about everything you need to chat about! H2b was born and adopted from Sligo, so at least we have a starting point. He was confirmed and done his communion in his home parish so only baptismal cert and birth cert we need to find. Think baptismal is easy enough as his mam knows where to get it as she needed it for communion and confirmation, but birth cert is different as not sure where to find it or how to go about it.

Sorry if this is very personal, but did you know you birth mothers name when looking for your birth cert?

Yeah the baptisimal cert should not e to hard to get...
The birth cert is always the hardest...
My situation is a bit different than everyone else who has been adopted... so its a bit confusing.. and really hard to explain... but yeah My birth mother is also my adopted mother... Lol... so emmm yeah... as I said confusing
But I do have to go through the same crap as everyone else...
My name was changed during the adoption that is why i have to send off for my birth cert, also it says on my birthcert that I am adopted... so has my mam and adopted dad's name... and I wasn't adopted untill I was 12.. so it may be the same for your H2b..

Here is a link that might be helpfull for you: http://www.irishcerts.ie/contact.htm
I am sure they will be able to answer allyour questions...
