Same as my mum was shocked when we got engaged, but she came round, I was only 20 at the time and still in college, she didnt mind too much when she heard we werent planning on getting married for a while. Evne when we did start planning she was a bit sceptical, but shez fine now and starting to get excited about it, im the first girl in the family to get married so I think she just doesnt want to start letting go of us just yet!

same as us, we're the first 'kids' on both sides to get married so it took some family a while to get used to the idea but they're all great now. they've even started getting excited about it asking what we have booked etc :D

My cousin got married there at the end of july and was the first of the cousins to get married, so was quite a bit of excitement. Now my aunt has turned her attention to me, she started to get all excited when I mentioned that wwe were setting a date! Will have to keep an eye on her, she tends ot get carried away with her own ideas and trying to help out!

one job i'm gonna keep aside for people like your aunt is 'The Address Hunter'. it'll keep them occupied and save you time, you could even ask her to start now so when invite time comes you can just send them out becasue you'll have all the addresses

Hey,

I got engaged at 22 my partner was 27. Il be married at 25 and my partner will be 30.

My parent were married quite young. Usual story of pregnancy and then marraige. They are now happily married and its 30 years later.
They wernt very happy wheni got engaged. Thought i was too young.
I moved out of home and to college at 17. Left Ireland at 19 and my partner and I have been living together since then in Switzerland.
Were here 5 years now. I think my family are now happy were planning to get married and realise that we are good together!

Same my mum was married at 24 but its strange when they think now we are very young getting married when some of her friends were married before her and are still happily married. I supose its just how things change over the generations, we have so many opportunities now, to her getting married is the end of that and you have to settle down and stick to one place rather than being a fresh start and new beginning!!
