I was thinking POSER lol! so when i turned around he was down on one knee!! i was in total shock for about 3mins b4 i realised he told me he loved me and asked me if i would mary him! so i said yes!!! and theres pictures to prove it where i am wearing a very classy 'I :heart1: pizza tshirt!! and this sweet elderly couple came and were the first to congratulate us and tell us theyv had 37years of happy marriage!! it was so romantic, i coulnt stop smiling all day!!!

I love reading peoples engagement stories :D

heres mine:
We were in Norway for xmas and when we were on a dog slaying trip in the mountains, we went for a walk and we were in snow up to our knees and when we sat down on a rock (to look at the moon and take in the scenery) he pulled out the box. it was so dark i couldnt see the ring and i thought he was joking with me so i didnt believe him until he put the ring on. It was so romantic, we stayed up all night (also because we were meant to sleep in a tent and it was so cold we couldnt sleep) and then we went on the dog sleighing the next morning. best holiday ever! :D

Yeah I have to agree a bit a romance I think lifts everyone especially in this climate. I will come back and tell my story tomorrow when I have time.

Well Hi to all, I'm new of course and here's my story.

We were out walking in Howth during the snow, staying a few days before christmas with my family, anyway we went for a walk in the snow and the sun was just going down so it was just about the most beautiful scene I have ever seen and I was not expecting him to do anything, we just hadn't really talked about it. We hadn't gone away on a holiday in over a year and he said how about going away for the new year next year. I said it would be nice to go away for the new year for a change instead of being at home doing the usual thing.

So how about we make it a Honeymoon aswell? I thought I was hearing things, what was that I said. He then pulled out a ring box opened it and asked me to marry him. I was so thrilled especially because it was a complete suprise to me, said yes of course, nearly knocked him to the ground jumping on him to hug him. And his choice of ring was the most perfect ever. I don't know if I'd have picked as nice myself. So we set the date for Christmas this year 2011 and will have our new year honeymoon.

I hope you enjoy my story and that it's not too long.

Oh Lucypoploo it sounds fab. My story is a bit different but also during the snow. I had gone to the cinema with a friend, later found out that she was in on it, but kept it quiet, well done to her.

When I got back the house was in darkness and I assumed that my boyfriend(now Fiance of course) had gone around to his friends. I rolled up the sleeves to start washing dishes(dishwasher on the blink and noticed that there were 2 patio heaters going out on the decking. I went out to investigate of course and he appeared with a bunch of flowers and a bag with chinese in it. This was to celebrate 3 years together. With all this effort I had a little suspicion but wasn't sure. I couldn't believe it actually wasn't too cold and we were halfway through the meal when he handed me a glass of white sparkling wine, my favourite. I lifted up the glass to drink and in the end was the most beautiful ring. He had an idea of what I liked as I had regularly passed comment on how beautiful my friends style of ring is. Then he just well will you and that was that we are now well and truly engaged.
God maybe the snow brings out the romantic side of men or something. :heart2:

Thank you poppit12, i think maybe your right about the snow bringing out the romance in men as my partner would not normally do things like this, I think it was very sweet of them to go to make the big effort. I love your ticker how did you do it.
