I honestly dont think its too early to start looking into what type of cake you like and definatly shop around for prices....ours s varying between €250-€500...

There is a lady in leitrim that makes wedding cakes I think her business is called sweet temptations....Her biscuit cake is to die for

...tasted it at the wedding fair in the Hudson bay Athlone if thats any good to you....She is on facebook too if you want to see her profile...

....If you jus google "recipe for chocolate biscuit cake" you should get plenty of recipes...hope this helps...

Oh biscuit is fabulous!!!! is a nice change to normal maderia, you can get different flavours with the biscuit cake aswell!!! Defo worth giving it a taste!!!!!

anyone thought not about what the actual cake will be made out of? But the design of it? I like the raised dotty one on the far right. Funny how cakes go in and out of fashion. Less typical, white icing now and more modernist designs (like that though!)

Oh thats a fab cake, I have a good idea of how I want the cake to look, have found a few pictures of what it till kinda look like, will just take them with me and use them to explain the design to the baker as I am usless explainging anything. Havent found a picture that is exactly my cake, looking at the prices though for the cake I like it could cost anything from 350 up to 600 or 700 depending on the amount of tiers. :shock:

I think we have finally decided on our cake. I like this one the best but with wine/red roses as it is a Christmas wedding. What do you's think?

Wow thats a stunning cake, I haven't even started looking at cakes yet, but I have a few ideas about what kind I would like.

I love the idea of the cupcake wedding cakes, we've been offered our cake for free from my h2b aunt who's a baker i just hope she's able to do what i like
