Holiday Diets
what do you do (if anything) to get in shape for your holidays? or the summer in general?
i always have great intentions but i never act on them, i'm too lazy. i would love to have the motivation to go the the gym or swim on a regular basis.
i do walk a lot and tend to cut down on junk food before holidays, but i'm afraid thats about as far as i go

Re: Holiday Diets
I dont do holiday diets, but usually play GAA during the summer which starts training in March so that has always kept me in some for of shape for the summer months. Have stopped this year, just needed to take a break, been playing for the past 3 years without a break, so just doing some running, walking and just bought a bike to cycle into work!

Ive always been sporty, and find now that when im annoyed or pissed off, no matter how tired I am, I always feel better when I come back from a walk or run, even if it is just a walk to the shop to get chocolate
Though the chocolate probably helps my mood just as much ad the walk!!

Re: Holiday Diets
Start small, start with walking and then when walking pick 2 points and start a slow jog between them, as you get fitter you can build in more short jogs and then start to build in a long jog!
To get motivated, some ppl dont like doing it by themselves, I dont mind doing it by myself, but sometimes its nice to have a walking partner! Music aslo can be motivating, especially when running, concentrate on the beat rather than you legs! With the good weather now it will be easier to get out, see if you can get a friend or himself to go with you, start small and work your way up, also set goals for yourself either time or distance goals and each time you reach them it will motivate you to keep going!

Although few places will classify shopping as exercise it is, as you are walking loads and also usually carrying a few bags! You could make a regular trip to do some window shopping and use it as a good long walk, even if you are doing it at a slow pace!

Yip, you can use it as an excuse!!
As for the stitch, havnt a notion what that is, though stitches are usually worse when you sit down!
