I'm not sure if its a better selection, just a better lay out, the staff always seem to keep everything well layed out, and they can be very helpfull if you can't find anything too...
I think I'd rather go to guineys than hickeys because its alot cheaper

We met our preistess the other sat. She's a very lovely and personable lady, full of ideas and quite intrigued about ours. She's sent us a template of what the ceremony should look like and we're happy with it.

We're going to be calling a dress rehersal soon, so that our quarters, and guides will know what they are doing on the day and things can run along smoothly.

The preistess will be supplying the toasting meade and also the cake for that section of the ceremony. We couldn't be more chuffed.

We loved meeting up with her even though Triona was nervous.

After meeting with her we then went into shannon to the fairy queen and tasted the various different cake mixes that they do. We've decided on a biscuit cake base (cauldron), and a choco mint top (pumpkin). We've given them free reign after the cauldron and the pumpkin and the figures are done. This should be one kick ass cake, we can't wait.

We'll also be supplying her buisness cards so that others can avail of her talents.

DIY projects to date... 08/22/2010

I've almost finished the circulet, the flowers, the shinny bits, and the leaves have all be put on the silver band, now all I need is the foam, or folded material to go along the inside of the circlet and its done.

As for the Guest Book / Album, I have assembled it, bound it with black leather, put the stickers on the front cover and in some of the pages, I've inserted tissue over ten pages at the back for the photos. All that's left to do is laminate the image of our invitation and insert it in the front cover, add the silver letters and ensure that everything is stuck to the cover, as well as add more stickers to the rest of the pages.

So projects are all go. I'm going to start figuring out the coffin card box and what to do to add accents to my dress.

The Card Box Idea...

Are you sure you want to delete this post? This action is permanent. Yes, delete postNo, keep post
I have been thinking for a while, what to do about a card box, okay now you want to know what a card box is and why I'd want one, or be thinking of one...well that's simple. People have a habit of giving you cards on your wedding day / handfasting, sometimes these cards are a replacement of gifts...which is perfectly fine...but usually these get chucked in a corner someplace or mislaid during the excitement and upheavel of the day, so many brides have created things called 'card boxes' which are usually themed with their wedding.
So as we're having ours at our home and me and T don't want to loose any of the cards we may be given, its been bugging me as to what I could use, some use large glass bowls, some use old fashioned american post boxes, some create crocodiles...so it came to me last night, while I was having trouble sleeping, that I could take the shoe box from the spare room (left behind by a guest), and somehow turn it into a coffin...now that would fit in with our theme perfectally. I just have to figure out how to do that...lol.

The card box sounds like a brill idea, h2b went around before the meal when everyone was gathering in the hotel and picked up cards from ppl, but I saw other groomsmen carrying cards and also the bride, they had the porter keeping them in the safe, but they kept waiting till they had a big enough pile to go to him with, so he wasnt in and out all day to the safe! With the card box, you might still want someone to empty if a few times during the day aswell so theres not too many cards in it!

My Wedding is not on Halloween day but 4 days before, but I love the idea of a real Halloween themed wedding, I think the room could look great and the flowers etc. I'm starting to look into that now to see how much I can do it all for.

I hadn't really thought about a theme for my wedding. I'm kinda just looking to see whats popular or in style for that time of year, maybe I should be looking of a theme of some sort, it might help making decisions a bit easier. September though, there's not really anything that happens then to base it on a theme of sorts, maybe an Autumn colour theme would be nice I suppose. Anyone any ideas on what I could do?

I am having a Halloween Wedding in 2012 and I am looking for different ideas.
So Far its in Castle and the Castle have agreed to have a bonfire outside, I have a fortune teller coming from Dublin and a Candy Cane Lane buffet with Toffee Apples for the evening.
I really want ideas on decorations as I dont want it to come across tacky.. I want elegant gothic dark with a bit of fun..?

I would love to hear some of your ideas..

Thanks

I don't have any ideas really, but the rest of the thread should give you some tips. I'm just starting to think about things too, planning to get married around this time of year in 2013, and I really love the idea of a bonfire and toffee apples. Maybe I should make a Halloween wedding and get everyone in fancy dress too...
