OMG was chatting to my cousin at the weekend and she is buying her own wine for her wedding, and the hotel is only charging 50euro for corkage in total for all the wine, whe has about 200 ppl coming ot the wedding!!!! :shock:

Im not sure coz she was saying it and didnt realise that it was a good deal, she though it was normal, she hasnt really bargined for things, just taken most things at what she was quoted, shez gettting a good deal with the hotel coz they dont really do weddings and were glad to get the business!

What is the general price out there for corkage? What's the most we should be paying, does anyone know?

Not all hotels charge it now, but when we looked at it, it varied greatly from place to place, can be between €10 to €20 a bottle. But in these tough times make sure to ask and don’t be afraid to haggle! They may do it very cheap as a way to attract more wedding business for themselves, word of mouth etc.
