GROOM'S ROLE in the Wedding

Your to do's for the day

Like the bride, the groom's responsibilities are important in planning and hosting the wedding as smoothly as possible. While some men like to leave all the details to their fiance, grooms should remember that the wedding is as much about them as the bride. Do more than just show up at the ceremony; be involved in the planning process. This is your "big day" too, make your opinions heard. Plus your fiance will appreciate your help.

With the bride choose the wedding style or theme, date and venue
With the bride and both of your families (if they are helping to pay) determine and plan your budget, including size and cost of wedding
Choose the bestman and groomsmen
Choose you suits for your special day (with advice from bride)
Choose the ring bearers attire (if you're having any)
With the bride choose invitations
Manage the paperwork and contracts for wedding services (DJ, catering, transport, etc.)
plan and book your honeymoon with the bride
Choose the wedding rings with the bride
Buy the bride a gift
Stand in receiving line at reception
Give a speech and toast during the dinner
Choose music for the first dance with the bride
Help write and send out thank you cards
