BRIDE'S ROLE in the Wedding
Your Big Day To-Do's
The bride's responsibilities are essential to the success of an unforgettable wedding. While many women relish the responsibilities of planning their dream wedding others are intimidated by the number of tasks. However, you don't have to go it alone; involve your fiance, family and friends in the planning process. Delegate some tasks to your bridal party - their primary job is to support you. You'll find that during this special time your loved ones are more than willing to lend a helping hand. Of the responsibilities listed, the most important is to have fun; this is your wedding after all so enjoy every moment of it.
- With the groom choose the wedding style or theme, date and where it's to be held
- With the groom and both of your families (if they are helping to pay) determine and plan your budget; including size and cost of wedding
- With the groom choose the ceremony officiant and venue and discuss ceremony style
- Choose the maid of honour or the matron of honour and the bridesmaids and flowergirls if you're having any
- Choose your wedding dress and bridesmaids dresses (you may also assist in choosing groomsmen suits and ring bearer attire)
- Choose the flowers girl's dresses if your having any
- With the groom choose your wedding invitations
- Choose the wedding flowers and colours
- Plan and book the honeymoon with groom (if you are going on one)
- Choose the wedding rings with the groom
- Buy the groom a gift
- Stand in receiving line at reception
- Choose the music for the first dance
- Send out thank you cards
